Sadly, our dog Cosmo passed away on February 14, 2009. Though he lived a long life, he left us much too soon. We would do anything for one more day with him.

Our furry family members in their Halloween Costumes; I think I had more fun with this than they did but they were terrific sports!

http://chris.pirillo.com/ - This year, our two puppies are getting dresed up as Princess Leia and Darth Vader. My wife, Ponzi, came up with the idea.

One minute after I recorded the video, Pixie peed in place and Wicket bit my left hand.

Wow! What a wild party! All the dogs were dressed in costume & ready to play...there was a vampire poodle, a princess, even one dog dressed as a Christmas Elf! But my fav was the weenie dog costumes...especially little SuzieBell - she looked so cute, even though she was a long haired chihuahua, she still looked hot! She could barely keep her paws off me!! LOL

But then she got jealous when I tried to talk to the vampire poodle...hey, I was there to have a good time & maybe make some new friends...SuzyBell was fun to play with, but heck, I was too young for any commitments...

I gotta hand it to mom, although there were four dogs dressed up at hot dogs in a bun, I was the only one dressed as a tourist, whatever the heck that is. There was only one dog that showed up without a costume, a Great Dane named Butch...his human escort said they couldn't find one big enough for him...(lucky dog)

They even had a photographer there to take our pictures so our humans could further embarrass us by displaying them...what will these humans think of next?

But I gotta say, overall, I had a great time! It was nice to get out & socialize with other pups. We all got treat bags & had our own little costume parade. How cool is that?

German Shepherd Dogs World's Worst Biters

German Shepherd dogs - also known as Alsatians - are one of the most popular breeds in the world. The breed boasts more dog clubs than others and yet internationally Alsatians have the worst reputation for biting people.

Observers believe the biting is because German Shepherd can be over protective. The 00004000 y have a reputation for aggression if not socialised correctly. That's why proper training is essential. Some experts believe Alsatians need "firm" training but others says the reward system works better.

German Shepherds have come a long way since their origins as sheep dogs in Germany in 1899. In fact it's hard to imagine them now as a sheep dog.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
    Dog ?
What are some unique and easy-to-make costumes for my small dog? It's too late to order one now for Halloween so does anybody have any suggestions?

I do know how to sew also.

    • ANSWER:
I made one for my little Yorkie-Poo the other day. i took a plain tee-shirt for a Build a Bear and hand sewed on some pieces a fabric, buttons, a straw, coffee cup lid, banana sticker and some other wrappers. He is going to be a piece of garbage. Its gonna be super cute!

  2. QUESTION:
    Halloween costume for my dogs?
Okay, So I thought I had my dogs halloween costume all planned out. Gunner was going to be a cow, Dixie a pig.

    Dixie's costume-

Take a 0-3 onsie dye it pink.
Cut out a hole for tail and a tiny hole in the back for the d loops of her harness to go through.
Then I was going to take pink felt and attach little triangles to a headband for her to wear.
I was going to spiral pipe cleaner around her tail to make the pig tail effect.

    Gunners Costume-

Take a 3-6 month onsie put black spots on it with shoe polish.
take black felt and put it on a head band for the ears.
I was going to use a small latex glove dyed pink filled with stuffing as the utters.

My Plan was coming together so well and then I realized...How will they potty? What do I need to do to their onsie to open it up so they can potty. I have no sewing experience what so ever.

Would it be easier to just buy plain white dog jumpers? I looked on the internet for them and couldn't find any and I am sure they would be
really expensive where as I can buy onsies at my local goodwill. where can i find jumpers
UGH! I did not ask you for your opinion about dressing up MY pets did I? No!

People dress their dobermans us for the national doberman whatever and so on so forth. So once a year is no big task! So shut-up if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all
Plus JJW they will only be in them for an hour or so while we are at a pet contest. Where I live dressing your pet up for halloween is as popular as dressing your kids up. And shows how much you know because my dogs like wearing clothing..

    • ANSWER:
I wouldn't make a costume for you dog, period. It's not cute or funny. Most people find it quite annoying and think of the owner's as arrogant. A dog is a pet, not a fashion statement. You take the dog for a walk and let it roll around in the mud before relieving itself on the neighbor's lawn. You do not dress up the dog thinking it's adorable because it is certainly not.

  3. QUESTION:
    Halloween costumes for dogs?
I have a 6mo old german shepherd ( female ) how is rather small but 60lbs. Any ideas for a homemade halloween costume for her?

    • ANSWER:
Something simple and non restrictive. Halloween confuses dogs since everyone looks so different, the worst thing you can do it make her more antsy with a crazy costume!
Cut an old Tshirt to fit her and use a sharpie to draw horiztonal stripes and write her a prisoner number. Instant jail bird!
