I want to buy halloween costumes for my dogs but my 14 y.o. son says they would be humiliated… is this true?

I saw the most adorable pirate costume that would fit my Jack Russel and a skelly costume that would fit my Fox Terrier. I was about to buy them but my son protested vehemently that I was taking the dogs' dignity from them and they would be humiliated to be seen in costumes.
Ha ha...so cute. No I love dressing my dog up, especially in the winter and when the weather gets chilly. I don't think your dogs will necessarily be humiliated but they might not enjoy it too much.

No! If they were my dogs they would be so happy to be out with people trick or treating.
If I didn’t have to work on Halloween I was gonna take my dogs trick or treating.
I think your sons are the ones who would be embarrassed.

Of course he would be humiliated.. He’s a dog, they don’t dress in costumes and pretend they are something they aren’t..

People put coats on their dogs in the winter, so a costume isn’t much different. I doubt dogs experience humiliation- as long as they make their owners happy, they’re usually happy.

They feel really uncomfortable. Especially with their fur coats.
My friends bulldog hates them so bad, she stays calmed and bored the whole day. They put it on her when she misbehaves.

your dogs won’t feel humiliated, but your son sounds like he would. a dog coat in winter is one thing for a cold animal, but there is no reason to dress your dog up for halloween.

they wont be "humiliated" just unconfertable.. they would hate it
