Any suggestions on a dogs costume?

I am taking my dog to the dauchifest, he is a miniture dauchund, and they are having a costume judging contest for the dogs, does anyone have any suggestions for a easy, inexpensive costume I could make for him.

Um... the hot dog idea is cute, but since it's a dachshund fest, it seems a little... unoriginal? I mean, probably a quarter of the dogs there will be dressed up as hot dogs.

My best idea is a race horse. You can easily make a jockey-type saddle using felt or something from the fabric store. (Just make sure you secure it to the collar or something so it doesn't slide.) Maybe you could find a jockey doll to put on his back. This is cute but not much of a costume, so it may not be super annoying for him.

What color is he and what kind of hair does he have?

Ethelucy August 11, 2009 at 4:40 am: The cutest costume I ever saw on a dauchund was when they made him look like a hotdog with mustard on it. You can look online for dog costumes and maybe Ebay would have the best prices. Good luck it sounds like a lot of fun!

well a hot dog would obviouly be cute. u can make it cheaper by buying fabric and making it urself.
