http://chris.pirillo.com/ - This year, our two puppies are getting dresed up as Princess Leia and Darth Vader. My wife, Ponzi, came up with the idea.
One minute after I recorded the video, Pixie peed in place and Wicket bit my left hand.

He wants to be Sludge from Nate the Great. I am having trouble finding a brown or beige sweatshirt and sweat pants. Do you have any suggestions that I can use for the base of the costume? I am unable to sow a suit from a pattern..i suck at sowing. I am able to hand stitch. I havent had luck finding a costume at any of my local stores...and the ones that I did see were for infants look way too hot anyway. He needs to be able to wear the costume to school. Please help!
Why not make it out of felt... ? Have your son wear sweats and over the sweats make a light felt overlay.. If you can whip stitch it should be ok.. Just get some brown felt, maybe a dark brown/lighter brown and cut it into large oval's and whip stich it together. Make him a dog collar out of foamy strips and put a name tag (sludge) on it so people know who he is... Get some or make some dog ears out of a cheap headband and some extra felt pieces. That should be pretty good/cheap.... Good luck
I have a chihuahua-terrier mix and i need help with her sizing. i want to get this costume http://www.buycostumes.com/Wizard-of-Oz-Dorothy-Pet-Costume/31451/ProductDetail.aspx and it says that a medium is , neck to tail - 15'' and she's 16" and then her chest is 21-22'' and it says medium is 17'' and large is 20''
So should i get a medium or large.. i don't want it to be too big though..
please no rude comments.. my dog loves dressing up, she had so much fun last year being a hot dog
i would just go to target or walmart or petco/petsmart and find one there. its a lot easier cause u can take ur dog in and try it on her.and yes small dogs are alowed in stores!
So far, I have:
Hot dog (too easy)
Missile
What other good ideas are there, and how would you make the costume?
Dressing your dog isn't cruelty as long as it does not hurt the dog, scare the dog, create a choking hazard, or make it overheat. You've got to have *some* sense of humor, people...
My Bostons make a great little herd of cows. *lol*
Let's see... He'd make a cute little dragonfly! Shiny green, soft, breatheable fabric, and light, plastic-framed wings. Or, along the same theme, a caterpillar!
and beat the living crap out of him??
Dress up as the dancing ginger bread man and go ask him to dance
