so thursday is my schools career day for spirit week. i want to be something unique and funny.
so far i have professional roller derby skater, burglar, fortune teller, lion tamer, horror movie actress, and dog walker.

which one do you like the best?
any ideas for costumes?
any new occupational ideas?

We need a Halloween Theme?

Every year each department in our company dresses up with a theme.

We try to keep the theme inexpensive (costumes under $20 which makes it very hard) yet we also want to win the prize for the most unique theme.

Any ideas?

For instance in the past years we went as tourist to Hawaii and we all dressed up in Hawaiin shirts, shorts, sandels. Some came with snorkeling equipment and surf boards.

Another year we came up with sheets (like bed sheets) with prints on them. Like dogs, horses, bulls(for dog sheet, horse sheet, bull sheet, some sheets had holes in them (holy sheet)...well you get the picture about the sheets.

We also dressed up in very large brown garbage bags which made us look like raisins.

Well....we're out of ideas. Can anyone give us some more ideas to work with?

what costume can i make that is simple and easy to do at home?

i need a costume for a camp wacky day.its in 2 days so im kinda limited on supplies. i want it to be unique(not a cat or dog or ninja ect.)it has to be something easy to make or something with simple material(ex-cat:ears,black shirt,black pants,eyeliner whiskers) but, i want it to be unique(not a cat or dog or ninja ect.) i already have two back-up plans in case i cant think of anything else

I can easily get materials such as shirts or cloth or whatever. i already have cat ears, a mask, a cloak, a top hat, ninja stuff, karate uniform, leis, and stuff from old costumes but i want to be something different.

(ps:i want it to also be something 2nd graders will recognize.im a counselor not a camper. also,it cant be a fairy or anything with wigs since i deal with kindergarteners.)

What are some UNIQUE/CREATIVE puggle dog costume ideas?

I have a Puggle who weighs about 24lbs. I'm entering him in a dog costume contest but don't want to purchase the standard everyone-has-it costume from the store. I'm willing to put some time and effort in for DIY costume. Any ideas? I want it to be creative and unique! I am also willing to be in costume if that will help. For example I've seen the dog dressed as a cop and the owner as a prisoner. That was pretty funny. I want to do something way more creative than a standard like that though. Help!

Dog costumes for halloween?

Okay, I usually hate clothes on dogs, and my dog hates them too Lil.

She's an alaskan malamute. I've seen one but I don't know where to get it from.
It's a harness, that makes it look like there's a goblin warrior riding the dog hehe.

Just wondering if anyone knew where I could get one. Storm is being the candy bag this year, she's dragging a sled for the goodies and I though this would be good.

What are some cool dog costumes for halloween?

I'm not sure if I am going to dress up my dog or not but I wanna get some good ideas. He's part coyote and part German Shepherd. A little chow fur in neck. He has shepherd coloring and coyote shape.
I want a costum for him that would go with mine so if u have any ideas for mine that would be great too. Thx!

And I DO have a coyote/shepherd mix. He is a reservation dog that we got when he was a puppy from the pound.
Plus, I do not believe in dressing dogs up all the time and using them as accessories. But this would be just one time for fun and I wouldn't keep it on him all day. Just for a little fun.

My dog is black and I was going to paint her white and leave some of her black showing for her cow costume and I need to make sure that it is safe for her before I do it!!!...If it is not safe, any suggestions on what to use?

She's going to try to clean it off of herself. Does the label say it's edible? Maybe it's better to stick with a fabric costume. It would be cute, with a little udder underneath.

Dog halloween costume ideas?

So I currently own a 5 month old bichon shih tzu. heres a pic:

and for halloween I was planning on her being a bumble bee. So i would make a black cone to go around her tail as the stinger and then I would buy a yellow baby shirt and paint stripes on it with blue wings. Do you think that sounds cute? If not do you have any suggestions instead?

We got one for our pit last year it cost about $5.00, with the wings, the head gear everything..............

If you REALLY want to make it then yes of course it sound cute, but watch what you put around her tail area as it can get in the way when peeing etc........plus it really seems to bother them [well it does mine]

I have a great little black Pomeranian that loves to dress up. (You can tell by the way he struts around that knows he looks handsome!) Naturally I want to be able to find him an awesome costume for Halloween. I don't even know what I want to do for Halloween myself (I'm 21 years old, by the way) but I've been thinking about dressing to match him. Have you seen any cute and not terribly expensive dog costumes? And what could I do to match him?

Note: I have tattoos and piercings. We like creepy stuff. I'm not a fan of the especially slutty costumes but at the same time I don't want to look frumpy or boring. I'm not scared of a short skirt, but I don't want to show off any goods, if you know what I mean. Also, I /hate/ this Twilight phase everyone's going through, so nothing too vampire-tastic.

And lastly, for all you pet fanatics out there that might get cross with me wanting to dress up with him: Please, just because he's a Pomeranian, don't think that I consider him my fashion dog. He's my buddy and I spoil the heck out of him because I love him. He's not my accessory, he's my partner in crime. <3

Get some stretchy elastic and lots and lots of felt. Look in craft stores like Michael's or Google where to find it. The felt should be red and orange, maybe even a little yellow. Cut the felt into strips and hot glue them onto the elastic - the more the better so it's fluffy. Make sure the elastic fits around the dog's head (don't stick it around the neck like a collar, it wouldn't look right) but not too tightly.

Voila, your dog is a lion!

I have a chihuahua/maltese mix who loves dressing up. My sister has a fairy build a bear whos costume happens to fit my dog so for her first halloween my Lady will be a fairy . I put it on her just now to make sure it fit and she got so excited she ran up to everyone waiting to be told how beautiful she looked. I already have he x-mas out fit a reindeer which she also happens to love. Does anyone else dress up their dog for the holidays?

where to find/ how to make a medieval horse costume for my dog?

for halloween i want my 15 month old son to be a knight and i want to incorporate the dogs into halloween too. i have a 115 lb chesapeake bay retriever that i wanted to be his medieval horse and my other 55 lb boxer mix to maybe be a princess or something.... i would even settle for him being a cowboy and my chessie being the western horse but i don't see ANY horse costumes at all online!!! i am even willing to make a simple costume if anyone knows how. please help!!!

Hehe I'm being Gir too! I made a hoodie and had Gir's dog face and ears on the hood part. I bought a green hoodie and then sewed black fabric on the sleeves. Then I had white circles with a black dot for eyes and sewed those one. I made a nose, a mouth and then two ears (might want to put pipe cleaners or cardboard to make it stand up. Add a tail and you're done!

Dog Halloween Costume Help!?

I have a 10 month old black lab/doberman mix (she is mostly black with brown markings on her nose and around her ankles) and she is around 50 pounds (very muscular with skinny legs). Anyway, I want to enter her into a Halloween Costume contest. Any ideas? I want to stick homemade so please don't send me links to websites!
You should know that my dog LOVES dressing up. Her tummy is really hairless and if she goes outside and its cold she shivers and whimpers... She loves her prep type sweaters, but I want something no one else will do or has thought of!

my wife and i need some help on halloween costumes. we want something very creative, (ie, no salt & pepper, nut and bolt, ketchup and mustard, wizard of oz characters, etc...) we don't want something that we can easily find online; (we'd rather make something.)

in the past we have gone as popeye and olive oyl, flinstones, old people, beetlejuice and lydia, football player and cheerleader, geek and supermodel, quail man and patty mayonaise...

again, we don't really want anything that other people will have. (nun and priest, popular movie characters, etc...) we wouldn't mind doing movie characters, but we'd rather it be less common.

also, we have a puppy that we would like to dress up, (doesn't need to be the same as us.) she is a lighter haired dog, so we considered getting washable, pet-safe hair dye and dying black spots on her to make her a dalmation. but not sure how safe that stuff is. any help there would be appreciated also.

Halloween Costume Ideas for 2 "Girls"?

My friends and I through a bit of trickery are going to be able to dress 2 different guys up at Halloween. They both were putting women down in a sociology class and we decided that this could be a great bit of payback. Neither one knows the other one will be doing this and they are both rather slight so we thought we'd give them a theme to make it even more fun. So far we're a bit stuck. We've come up with Britney and Cristina, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton, the two girls from Abba, 80s Madonna and current Madonna, or the Olsen Twins. We like Nicole and Paris the best, but other than the dog we couldn't come up with actual costumes. Any ideas for that costume or easier to manage famous pairs?

If it were me, I might go with the Pirate or Cowboy thing, or maybe the pig.

With the pirate costume, you could get creative and work up a dreadlock wig ala Johnny Depp along with some other clothes and makeup!

I kinda think there will be 50 Uncle Sams there, don't you?

I would go with Johnny Depp. Get a little toy sword and an ear ring too!

Do you live in a town where they have a 4th of July parade and will you go or participate in it?

I live in a small resort community where everyone has ATV's, and they decorate them, pull trailers with all their kids on them, music blaring from boom boxes, throw candy out to the people lining the streets, some walk with their dogs all dressed in costumes, kids ride decorated bikes...........is this a thing of the past? Too bad if it is.

Hi, i live near the beach and every july 4th there is a huge display of amazing fireworks on the beach and everybody sits on the sand to look at them. It is very nice.

I only saw the movie a couple of times, a long time ago. Read the book 50+ times

1. Tony = good...he's Danny as a teenager or young adult
2. The Hotel was haunted and the previous caretaker was possessed by evil, as was Jack
3. That I don't remember
4. The guy in the bunny costume is dead, but he's a pervert and a drunk who was a lover of the hotel's previous owner. Nothing really significant, just adds to the overall creepiness and horror.

Do you think its mean to dress your pets for Halloween?

I have a kitten and a dog. For Halloween I was thinking of dressing my kitten as a dog and my dog as a kitten, but my friend told me this was considered at animal abuse, but I see Halloween costumes for pets at Pet stores? Is it Animal Abuse?

No it's not animal abuse. As long as you don't dress them up all the time it doesn't hurt. Dogs and cats aren't fashion statements. They don't need makeup, jewelry, their own clothing line, etc. People do go to the extreme and dress their pets up just like in the movies Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Legally Blonde.
They treat their animals as if they're kids, it's not abuse just spoiling them is all.

Hi,
My friend wants to dress up as a Dalmatian (as in dog) this year for halloween. She is a plus size and needs help finding one. It needs to be somewhere between 3x-4x. It could be online or in a store. If someone can please help us, that would be great. Thank you!

You should go to all the costumes stores you can find, or look up on the internet what they look like and make it. Even if you can't i am sure you know someone who is excellent at stuff like that. Maybe even offer to pay them a little money for the thing that they are doing for you
